Description
Description
Ise-Shima Dried Hijiki Seaweed | Traditional Japanese Sea Vegetable (13 g)
Enjoy the authentic taste and delicate texture of premium Ise-Shima hijiki seaweed, carefully selected and traditionally processed by a long-established hijiki producer with approximately 200 years of history.
Harvested at its peak season, these tender hijiki buds are prepared using traditional methods to preserve their natural color, flavor, and satisfying texture. Once rehydrated, the seaweed returns to a fresh, seasonal quality that adds depth and character to a wide variety of dishes.
With its naturally rich flavor and beautiful texture, hijiki is a staple ingredient in Japanese cuisine. It is perfect for classic simmered dishes, but also shines in modern recipes such as salads, spicy dishes, rice mixes, and vegetable sides.
How to Rehydrate:
- Soak hijiki in water using approximately 10 times the amount of water for 20 to 30 minutes. (Use warm water for faster preparation.)
- Once expanded, gently stir and loosen the seaweed.
- Lift hijiki from the top to avoid transferring any sediment that settles at the bottom.
- Rinse thoroughly in a colander, changing the water 2 to 3 times.
- Drain well before cooking.
Serving Ideas:
- Traditional simmered hijiki dishes
- Hijiki and vegetable salads
- Spicy seasoned side dishes
- Mixed rice dishes
- Toppings for tofu, noodles, and vegetables
