Organic Hokkaido Moseushi-cho Yumepirika
Some rice is simply meant to be experienced. Our JAS Certified Organic Yumepirika from Moseushi-cho, Hokkaido turns an everyday bowl of rice into something truly special.
The name captures its character. “Yume” means dream, while “Pirika” is an Ainu word meaning beautiful. Yumepirika was developed to be exceptionally delicious, with delicate sweetness, a luxurious texture, and a clean, pure flavor.
Grown with nature
This rice is grown in Moseushi-cho, Hokkaido, a town known for its beautiful seasonal landscape and heavy snowfall in winter.
The Japanese expression “Setsugetsuka,” meaning “Snow, Moon, and Flowers,” describes the beauty of Japan throughout the four seasons. In Moseushi, these seasons can be felt especially clearly. Winter brings deep snow, while the changing seasons create the natural environment in which our rice is carefully grown.
The abundant snow and pure water of Hokkaido provide an ideal foundation for rice cultivation. Together with our careful organic farming practices, this natural environment helps produce rice with exceptional sweetness, texture, and flavor.
Biologically Activated Water
Our rice paddies are treated with biologically activated water made from pig manure compost, humus, and andesite.
This water is used throughout cultivation:
- During soaking for germination
- For irrigating seedlings
- In the rice fields throughout cultivation
This approach is based on BMW, or Bacteria, Minerals, and Water, a natural farming technology inspired by nature’s own processes. It supports beneficial microorganisms and uses minerals from andesite, granite, and serpentinite to help create healthy, fertile soil.
These practices are designed to work with nature and help bring out the rice's clean, naturally delicious flavor.
JAS Certified Organic
This Yumepirika is JAS Certified Organic, meeting Japan’s rigorous standards for organic cultivation. Every step is carefully managed, from soil care and cultivation to harvesting and handling.
The result is beautifully sweet and aromatic rice with a tender, almost mochi-like texture and the perfect balance of stickiness and lightness.
Yumepirika also stays delicious and soft after cooling, making it especially wonderful for onigiri, bento, and packed lunches.
A rice worthy of being savored
Enjoy it freshly steamed with a touch of sea salt, alongside grilled fish and seasonal vegetables, or simply on its own. Its natural sweetness and depth of flavor need very little embellishment.
