🍘Since its founding in 1950, Sakurado has been dedicated to crafting authentic Japanese rice snacks (senbei/okaki) using only domestically grown rice. From carefully selected glutinous rice grown under contract in Niigata to other high-quality local ingredients, every step—from milling to seasoning to packaging—is carried out in-house at our own factory.

🌾Rather than relying on mass production, we take a hands-on, artisanal approach to bring out the full, deep flavor of Niigata rice. Each cracker is made with care and respect for traditional techniques, preserving the nostalgic taste of Japan’s culinary heritage.

🧂To enhance the natural richness of the rice, we use a special deep-sea salt from Sado Island, known as “Mishio”, which adds a refined, savory touch."Mishio" is a natural sea salt made by simmering 100% pure deep ocean water from off the coast of Sado Island in open kettles for 24 hours. Rich in minerals derived from deep ocean water, it has a subtle sweetness and a mellow, complex flavor.
