A Kitchen Essential Born from Customer Love

"I realized I haven't touched my electric rice cooker in months."

"My donabe has found a permanent place between my dining table and gas stove."

These enthusiastic customer testimonials inspired Kagetsu to create this charming, purpose-built rice cooking pot that doubles as a beautiful interior accent.

Superior Craftsmanship

  • Meticulously selected materials focused on perfect rice cooking
  • Engineered for optimal heat circulation without requiring flame adjustment
  • Built for longevity with easy maintenance to become a cherished kitchen heirloom
  • Developed by the fifth generation of a donabe-making family who has used clay pots for rice cooking since childhood

Revolutionary Features

  • No Heat Adjustment Needed: INAHO's unique temperature regulation system conducts heat more efficiently than standard clay pots
  • Superior Heat Resistance: Inspired by NASA rocket technology, this pot withstands rapid heating and cooling without cracking—even when wet or during dry heating
  • Perfect Fluffiness: Far-infrared effect ensures perfectly fluffy rice every time
  • Convenient Water Measurement: Built-in water level lines eliminate the need for measuring cups
  • Ready to Use Immediately: Unlike traditional clay pots, no initial porridge cooking is required for seasoning
  • Versatile Cooking: Perfect for white rice, mixed rice, Chinese congee, and red bean rice—all with consistently fluffy results without flame adjustment

Safe and Sustainable

Kagetsu's commitment to safety means their products contain no harmful substances like lead or cadmium. The exceptionally durable clay and glaze are developed in-house by Kagetsu, ensuring a product that won't crack even during dry heating or when water remains at the bottom. Rest assured with our safe, Japanese-made quality.

For Rice Connoisseurs: Our Recommended Cooking Method

  1. Soak rice for at least 2 hours to ensure thorough water absorption
  2. Use exactly 90% water by volume compared to your soaked rice
  3. Just before boiling, stir once with a rice paddle to eliminate any unevenness between the bottom and top

Care Instructions

  • Wash thoroughly and dry completely before storage
  • Dry heating for about 2 minutes is acceptable for drying
  • Reheat leftover rice by wetting only the inner lid and microwaving (outer lid optional)
  • Natural clay materials may show slight color variations—embrace this as the unique character of handcrafted pottery
  • Hand washing recommended as the rounded design makes rice residue difficult to clean in dishwashers

Transform your daily rice cooking into a joyful ritual with the INAHO Donabe—where tradition meets innovation for the perfect bowl of rice, every time.
