Nestled in the northern part of Niigata Prefecture, Shibata City is blessed with rich natural diversity, from mountains to sea. The city's unique geography, with the Japan Sea to the northwest and the Iide mountain range to the east, creates an ideal environment for rice cultivation.
The landscape gently slopes from east to west, with the pristine Kaji River and its tributaries flowing through the city.
This topography has given rise to fertile plains along the river basins, earning Shibata City the title of "Kita-Kambara's Granary".
The secret to Shibata's exceptional rice lies in its beautiful, abundant water supply and the significant day-night temperature differences. These conditions combine to produce rice of unparalleled flavor and quality.

Each year, Shibata City hosts the prestigious "Shibata Delicious Rice Contest," where skilled local farmers showcase their best crops. This competition uses advanced taste evaluation equipment and meters to select the top 10 producers, whose rice then undergoes a rigorous sensory evaluation by expert judges to determine the Gold, Silver, and Bronze award winners.
At the rice factory, we take pride in importing only the finest Koshihikari rice from the top-ranking farms in the "Shibata Delicious Rice Contest". By selecting only the best of the best, we ensure that our customers experience the true essence of Shibata's renowned rice cultivation.
