Rare rice by rare farming method

The phantom variety "Sasashigure" is not distributed to general retailers because there are very few farmers.
The rare variety was raised on the rice factory farm. Of course, it is pesticide-free and fertilizer-free natural cultivation.
Sasashigure is the parent of Sasanishiki.
In terms of taste, it is said that even Sasanishiki, which is as popular as Koshihikari, which has a long-established reputation, cannot surpass the umami of Sasashigure.
Sasashigure is a top-class rice with a good scent when cooked and sweetness increases when cooled.
Please enjoy a special taste that cannot be tasted with ordinary rice.

New Favorite

I thought I would have more time to taste and gauge whether I should buy more. But it sold out it two days! Right when the package arrived. I understand after trying the 70% milled version. Superb texture and nice sweet finish despite the bran not being removed completely. Has an intoxicatingly nutty scent with a hint of sweet corn while cooking. Grains are big for a nice mouthfeel. Bigger than koshihikari and tsuyahime. Firm on the outside but nice and soft on the inside when cooked right. Not as smooth and silky as something like uonuma koshihikari, but I have yet to try the white version. I can’t wait to break open my bag! Buy this if you see it in stock. You won’t regret it.

Interesting new rice

Expensive but worth a try, like the natural farming method used to produce this varietal. You can definitely taste the freshness, the rice has a nice chew at the same time feels quite light, but if you prefer softer rice this might not be for you. Highly recommend getting it 70% milled, tastes just like white rice, yet the most nutritious germ is preserved.
