[RECIPE] Teriyaki Chicken Don

Teriyaki Chicken Don is a delicious comforting Japanese rice bowl, combining tender, sweet, and savory teriyaki-glazed chicken with fluffy, warm rice. The rich sauce soaks into the rice, balancing with creamy mayonnaise and enhancing each bite with extra flavor.

      Instructions:

        1. Prepare freshly steamed rice. (See how to cook rice
        2. Boil the eggs - add eggs in boiling water and cook for 8 minutes for soft-boiled eggs. 
        3. Slice the scallions for garnish. 
        4. Cut chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and lightly season with salt. 
        5. In a hot frying pan, heat a little cooking oil. Sear the chicken pieces for about 2 minutes on the skin side, flip the meat, then cover with a lid and cook for another 3-4 minutes. 
        6. Add scallions, sake, mirin, soy sauce, and sugar into the pan, letting the chicken simmer until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken. 
        7. Add rice to a serving bowl, add some teriyaki sauce on the rice, top with the teriyaki chicken, drizzle mayonnaise, then add the soft-boiled egg for a delicious finishing touch.
